Sustainability
As well as making the best quality cheeses, sustainability is central to Fratelli Amodio and something we take immensely seriously. Low food miles, recyclable materials, machinery that minimises water usage and turning our waste into electricity are all integral components to our sustainable production.
All our milk comes from one single source, Chew Valley Dairy. Their cows graze only 3 miles away and have a wonderful quality of life, out at pasture for most of the year. Chew Valley Dairy is Red Tractor Assured and their animals welfare is of the utmost importance.
All our packaging is 100% recyclable and sourced from accredited and responsible suppliers. We are the only producer of wet mozzarella to use cardboard as our outer casing, replacing polystyrene. Polystyrene is common place in the dairy industry especially with imported products and is a terrible global polluter, our aim is to help diminish this as much as possible.
All our waste is collected and transported 3 miles away to Chew Valley Dairy’s anaerobic digester, turning it all back into low carbon energy for surrounding areas.
